Bret Michaels: rock ’n’ roll superman

Is Bret Michaels simply unstoppable, or what?

The guy is like a diesel-powered juggernaut — last year alone he: Won Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice 3,” hosted the “Miss Universe 2010” pageant, and followed his trashy “Rock Of Love” reality show with a new one called “Bret Michaels — Life As I Know It,” which ditched the sleaze to focus on his existence as a family man. He’s also just wrapped a new album, “Once A Cowboy, Always A Cowboy” — the bandannaed one has indeed been busy.

And Michaels — who suffers from Type 1 diabetes — won’t let health issues sideline him, either.

He’s recently endured a hair-raising gamut, too, like an emergency appendectomy, a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a TIA (transient ischemic attack, or warning stroke), and even a PFO — a patent foramen ovale, or a genetic hole in his heart. And now, he’s back on one of this summer’s coolest tours, which hits the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on June 15, with tickets going on sale this weekend: Poison, touring with fellow hair-metal headliners Motley Crue, and the recently rejuvenated New York Dolls opening.

Nothing but a good time, as far as we’re concerned!
