Boy George releases new album, Culture Club reunion in the works

Speaking of lads who can’t seem to catch a break, one of modern popdom’s most jinxed stars finally returns after a decade-long absence this week.

That’s right, ex-Culture Club maven Boy George his badself is back with “Ordinary Alien,” released through Ultra Music Digital.

Part One of the first two-part single — “Amazing Grace” — is already out, and the rest of the tracks were co-written and co-produced with Mr. O’Dowd’s longtime collaborator, Kinky Roland. It follows last year’s hugely successful Night Of The Proms Tour.

2011 could be the year that Boy George ascends the musical throne once again.

Not only was he picked by super-producer Mark Ronson to croon on his recent “The Business International” album, the two will be performing together at London’s Roundhouse on Feb. 16. And once he’s done promoting “Alien” in 2012, George will be giving the fans exactly what they’ve been wanting: Culture Club, reunited, for a huge 30th Anniversary jaunt.
