Botox mom has daughter taken away, San Francisco Human Services Department investigating

The woman who treated her 8-year-old daughter with Botox has had the girl taken away from her, ABC News reported Monday.

Britney Campbell was taken out of the home during the weekend, according to ABC News. Child Protective Services is investigating the mother, Kerry Campbell. Reportedly, the girl is “doing well,” according to ABC News.

Kerry Campbell made the news last week after she appeared on the television shows “Good Morning America” and “Inside Edition.” Campbell, who enters her daughter in beauty pageants, maintains that what she does is safe and that other members of the pageant community treat their children with Botox, too.

Not long after she appeared on TV, San Francisco officials began an investigation into the mother. Campbell reportedly lives in San Francisco.

Trent Rhorer, executive director of the San Francisco Human Services Agency, told KGO-TV on Thursday that officials wanted to talk with Kerry Campbell and her daughter Britney.

“It’s pretty unusual for a mom to be injecting an 8-year-old with Botox and certainly is grounds for an investigation,” Rhorer told the TV station.

Excerpts of the "Good Morning America" video can be seen here. The Examiner first reported on Campbell in March, when the British tabloid The Sun broke the story. The case generated national attention last week after Campbell appeared on television defending her actions.
