Boozed-up Cage goes bonkers in Big Easy

Nicolas Cage was arrested Saturday night in New Orleans on suspicion of domestic abuse and disturbing the peace after a tussle with his wife, Alice Kim. TMZ obtained footage of an apparently intoxicated Nic stumbling around a tattoo parlor shortly before the incident.

“He was drunk,” a fellow inmate told People magazine. “He wasn’t in a cell, he was behind the counter with all the other officers.”

“Cage and his wife were standing in front of a residence that he insisted was the property the couple was renting,” a statement from the city’s Police Department said. “She disagreed, and Cage grabbed her by the upper arm and pulled her to what he believed was the correct address. There were no visible signs of injury on his wife’s arm.”

“The actor then began striking vehicles and later attempted to get into a taxi,” the statement said. “At that point, an officer who had been flagged down by onlookers drove up on the couple, immediately observed that Cage was heavily intoxicated and ordered him out of the cab, which prompted Cage to start yelling. The officers subsequently took Cage to Central Lock-up.”

OK, it’s one thing to make fun of his increasingly terrible movies or shake our heads at his financial woes. But now we’re really starting to worry about Nicolas Cage.

Ride Closed

Courteney Cox is apparently unfazed by estranged husband David Arquette’s candor when it comes to their love life — or lack thereof. She even gave Howard Stern her own side of a story that she rebuffed his advances during an outing to Disney World, of all places.

“David told everyone, ‘I tried to hit on Courteney at Disney World,’” the “Cougar Town” star said. “I’m like, ‘Dude, that’s not really for everyone to know.’ He did try to hit on me. He hit pretty hard and I said, ‘You don’t have the fast pass right now. Not to that ride!’”

We’re happy Courteney and David are getting along so well, and we’ve been outspoken supporters of them getting back together — but really, this is starting to be TMI!

Demi’s Demons

After successfully battling her demons, Demi Lovato is speaking out about the emotional crisis that landed her in a treatment program. The young star opened up to Seventeen magazine, explaining, “I basically had a nervous breakdown.”

“I was really bad off,” said the “Sonny With a Chance” actress. “My parents and my manager pulled me aside and said, ‘You need to get some help.’ It was an intervention. I wanted freedom from the inner demons. I wanted to start my life over.”

Demi was reportedly hospitalized because of emotional isssues that involved an eating disorder and cutting herself.

“One of the reasons I was so unhappy for years was because I never embraced my emotions and I was trying to stay in control,” she confided. “In treatment, all of the negative things I did were stripped away and I had to start processing my feelings.”

An awful lot for a young woman to tackle! Congrats, Demi.
