Bond money pays for Dolores Park rumor cleanup

This is not one of those tired old posts that over-explains the baby mama drama behind closures at Dolores Park.

This is just to let you know that for the first time tonight, you could see Rec and Park’s professional outreach team at the highly anticipated Dolores Park meeting – but don't expect any solid answers.

Ideally the team would have done the outreach for Dolores Park when they were ready to talk closures in the future. But after the rash of rumors spread, Rec and Park decided to use the money from a voter-approved Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks bond to help explain why there’s still nothing to tell.

Davis & Associates Communications signed a contract with a department in December to work with capital improvement project outreach, and this will be the first time they’re out in public.

And despite whispers that they were hired specifically for Dolores Park rumor clean-up on aisle 10, Rec and Park has been using them on an as-needed basis. So far the company has invoiced them for $15,000 in Web work for the Marina West Harbor Renovation and $10,00 in planning outreach for the Fulton Playground renovation.
