Body found on Nob Hill Monday morning identified

The 23-year-old woman found dead with a head injury on the steps of a Nob Hill apartment building early Monday morning has been identified by the medical examiner.

Witnesses called police just before 3 a.m. when they discovered the body of Cecilia Fulton-Vicuna, a San Francisco resident, lying on an outdoor stairway on the 600 block of Stockton Street.

Officers attempted to perform life-saving measures on Fulton-Vicuna, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police spokesperson Carlos Manfredi.

The medical examiner plans to conduct an autopsy Tuesday to determine the cause of death. How Fulton-Vicuna received the injury remains under investigation.

The police report indicates Fulton-Vicuna died between 1 and 3 a.m., according to Manfredi.
