Board could increase concourse fountains’ contract

A decision on whether to spend an additional $100,000 on the Golden Gate Music Concourse fountains because officials say they need to replace the century-old drainage system could be approved today.

The concourse authority’s agenda for the afternoon meeting says with their authorization the contract for the company in Concord, that’s also worked on the Palace of Fine Arts, would increase from $1.1 million to $1.2 million.

The fountain contract is on top of about $11 million worth of other renovations to the area.

The discussion was supposed to happen about a week ago, but the agenda was not posted in time and they had to reschedule.

The meeting’s at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall in room 263.
