Blood trail may lead to killer in Noe Valley stabbing

The suspect in a Noe Valley stabbing last week that killed a young father left a blood trail four blocks long, and police are asking witnesses who may have seen the killer to come forward.

Officers responded to 28th and Sanchez streets April 8 and found Charles McAleer-Bonilla with multiple stab wounds, police said. McAleer-Bonilla, 30, may have wounded the attacker, or attackers, in a fight that broke out in the area of 305 28th St., close to his apartment.

McAleer-Bonilla delivered mail for the water department since 2004 at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, where fellow employees have pulled together more than $1,000 to help his mother and 12-year-old son with funeral costs.
