Bike-sharing to be discussed at SPUR on Wednesday

Bike-sharing, a pet program favored by Mayor Gavin Newsom, will be discussed in detail later this week.

The idea of having available bikes on city streets for residents to use to cars has been a big hit in several European cities, such as Paris, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.
Jessica Coleman, a landscape designer at MPA Design, a San Francisco-based firm, will discuss the success of these cities’ programs on Wednesday at SPUR’s daily public forum. SPUR is a local think-tank.

The meeting is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the institute’s center on 654 Mission Street. It is free for SPUR members and $5 for non-members.
