Biden provides an excuse for the stimulus by re-inventing what happened 

Vice President Joe Biden said this weekend that the president wanted a bigger stimulus package, but he had to shrink it down in order to get Republican votes.

Uh, no. Here’s what the president actually said just before the $787 billion package (since adjusted upward to $860 billion) passed:

“Broadly speaking, the package is the right size, it is the right scope, it has the right priorities…”
