Bicyclist struck by SF fire truck remains in critical condition 

A bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a fire truck in San Francisco early Saturday morning, police said.

Officers responded to the intersection of Mason and Turk streets in The City's Civic Center neighborhood shortly after 2 a.m., police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan said

The fire truck was traveling south on Mason Street while the bicyclist was traveling west on Turk Street. Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White said Engine 1 struck the cyclist at 2:12 a.m.

The cyclist was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Hayes-White said in a statement the department is cooperating fully with the San Francisco Police Department and their investigation into the incident.
