Bicyclist struck by school bus in SF

A bicyclist was taken to a local hospital after being struck by a school bus in San Francisco Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at about 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of California Street and 24th Avenue south of the Presidio, Andrew Barclay of the Marin CHP office said.

San Francisco police Sgt. Wilfred Williams said the bicyclist struck a side mirror on the bus and was knocked to the ground.

Barclay said he did not know the man's condition. At least one child on the bus also suffered minor injuries in the crash.

San Francisco police are not handling the investigation of the incident because any crash involving a school bus is the jurisdiction of the CHP.
