BART riders experienced long delays systemwide Wednesday morning due to a death on the tracks at the Powell Street station in downtown San Francisco.

As is expected these days, those riders were none too shy about expressing their grief over the delays in social media forums such as Twitter. Below are a few of the tweets from BART riders Wednesday morning. The San Francisco Examiner sends its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, who has not been identified.

The Powell Street BART station has reopened, and Muni in San Francisco and Caltrain offered free rides to BART passengers to alleviate crowded BART trains.
