Bernanke: "Credit risk is a very important topic" 

The smooth flow of credit is "essential for a healthy economy," the Federal Reserve chairman said Thursday. Bernanke, in brief remarks to a Federal Reserve conference, said, "Credit risk is a very important topic." The Fed chief’s remarks come amid recent turmoil on Wall Street about mounting troubles for lenders who made mortgages to people with blemished credit histories.

Taco Bell

Boskovich Farms Inc., the Oxnard green onion grower linked and then cleared in the Irvine-based fast-food chain’s E. coli outbreak in December, is firing back. The grower is alleging in a libel lawsuit that its onions were to the outbreak that sickened more than 70 restaurant patrons even after Taco Bell knew the produce was not contaminated, destroying much of its business.
