Belmont police seek robbery suspect 

Police officers are looking for witnesses to a robbery that occurred just after 11 p.m. on Sunday outside the Safeway at 2100 Ralston Ave.

According to the victim, a 47-year-old San Carlos woman, a man in his late 20s grabbed her purse and ran as she attempted to get in her car after leaving the grocery store. She ran after him but he was picked up in a sedan driven by another person.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 175 lbs and clean-shaven. He was wearing a black baseball hat, dark blue shirt and baggy black pants. The vehicle was a champagne-colored sedan similar to a late-model Toyota Corolla.
