Bedtime home invasion in Inner Sunset

A 33-year-old man asleep in his bed Monday night was bound in duct tape, cut with a knife and robbed as cruel hooligans ransacked his home in the Inner Sunset district, police said.

Two thugs “duct-taped him on his mouth and on his eyes” during the robbery, San Francisco police Sgt. Troy Dangerfield said.

The terrifying home invasion was one of six armed robberies in The City starting Monday afternoon and ending Tuesday morning, police said.

The nightmarish punks awoke the victim around 11:25 p.m. in his home in the unit block of Gateview Court, police said. One suspect showed the victim a knife, told him not to move and helped the other suspect tie him with duct tape, cops said.

After they fled, the victim freed himself and discovered the burglars had pillaged his home, police said.

There is no indication the victim knew the suspects, Dangerfield said. The victim said it was too dark to identify them, he added. The suspects were described only as Asian males, cops said.

The victim heard them enter the residence, but thought they were his parents checking in on him, Dangerfield said.

Five more people were robbed in various parts of The City since Monday afternoon, cops said.

A 25-year-old woman stabbed a 38-year-old man during a hotel room robbery in the 2200 block of Mission Street around 4:45 p.m., cops said. The suspect and victim entered the hotel room together, they said.

An arrest was made in the case. The man was transported to the hospital, but walked out before being treated, police said.

Armed street robberies also occurred in the Bayview, South of Market and Tenderloin neighborhoods during the last 24 hours, police said.

Cell phones, a wallet and necklace were among the items stolen. Suspects in the robberies ranged in age from 16 to 35, police said.
