Beastie Boys spice things up with ‘Hot Sauce’

It’s been a tough couple of years for raspy-throated Beastie Boys rascal Adam “MCA” Yauch.

The band pulled out of a 2009 Outside Lands headlining slot after he was diagnosed with cancer of the preaortic gland and lymph node, which he’s thankfully survived, but not completely beaten, he recently reported — he’s still undergoing treatment. Which should give added gravity to the Beastie Boys’ return on May 3 with the long-awaited “Hot Sauce Committee Part Two” on Capitol, the follow-up to their Grammy-winning, all-instrumental effort from 2007, “The Mix-Up.”

It was produced by Yauch and his bandmates (Adam “Ad Rock” Horovitz and Mike “Mike D” Diamond) and mixed by Philippe Zdar.

The tracklisting: “Make Some Noise,” “Nonstop Disco Powerpack,” “OK,” “Too Many Rappers” (featuring Nas), “Say It,” “The Bill Harper Collection,” “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” (featuring Santigold), “Long Burn The Fire,” “Funky Donkey,” “The Larry Routine,” “Tadlock’s Glasses,” “Lee Majors Come Again,” “Multilateral Nuclear Disarmament,” “Here’s A Little Something For Ya,” Crazy Ass S---” and “The Lisa Lisa/Full Force Routine.”
