Beastie Boys releasing special limited edition ‘Hot Sauce’ on Black Friday

It isn’t Record Store Day, exactly.

But music fans are being urged, on behalf of the retail-minded site, to visit your favorite still-standing store this Nov. 25, Black Friday, and artists are all chipping in to do their limited-edition part.

Naturally, The Beastie Boys have jumped into the fray with a new “Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, Deluxe Version,” hitting the shops that day. And to start with, it includes both Blu-ray and DVD versions of the landmark album, in standard and 5.1 audio.

The video content includes the trio’s time-traveling epic “Fight For Your Right Revisited,” plus the surreal Spike-Jonze-directed clip for “Don’t lay No Game That I Can’t Win.” And it’s all packaged in a deluxe 130+ page book. And if you’re feeling particularly lazy, not into helping keep your local CD/vinyl store afloat (c’mon – make an effort here!), you can log onto www.beastieboys.com for a finite amount of pre-orders, available in an edition packaged with an official Beastie Boys Stuyvesant Phys Ed T-shirt, as sported by Ad Rock in the old days (and “Revisited”).
