Beamon scores 33, Manhattan defeats Canisius 78-66 

George Beamon scored a season-high 33 points as Manhattan rallied from an early nine-point deficit to beat Canisius 78-66 and post its sixth straight win.

The Jaspers (15-7, 8-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who have the longest active winning streak in the league, trailed 18-9 before tying it at 31.

With Canisius (4-16, 1-9) up by two in the second half, Manhattan went on a 10-0 run to lead 47-39.

Gaby Belardo, who led the Golden Griffins with 18 points, made a layup and David Santiago dunked to close the gap to 47-43. Kidani Brutus and Beamon then hit 3-pointers to help the Jaspers send Canisius to its fourth straight loss and seventh in the last eight games.

Beamon shot 14 of 24 and also had eight rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks.

Rhamel Brown was the only other Manhattan player in double figures with 10 points.
