Bayview homicide 38th in S.F. this year 

The shooting death of a man in the Bayview district early Sunday was the 38th homicide in The City this year.

The incident was reported about 3:35 a.m. A man shot the victim in the unit block of Double Rock Street in what appears to have been an attempted robbery, police Sgt. Lyn Tomioka said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 4:05 a.m., she said.

The suspect was described as between 20 and 25 years old and about 6-feet tall. He weighs between 180 and 200 pounds,  has dreadlocks and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, according to police.

Also Sunday, a man was shot and injured in Chinatown, near Grant Avenue and Jackson Street, shortly after midnight Saturday.
