The state agency that monitors shorefront development along the Bay Area coastline is seeking to make its permitting process more efficient.
The Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) will vote next month on amending its permitting process to allow for approval of pipeline installation (so long as it doesn’t greatly disturb ground surfaces) when applicants come to the agency for project proposals.
By giving the okay to pipeline proposals, the BCDC will remove a step in the multi-agency application process that project developers must go through before beginning construction on the Bay Area shorefront.
The BCDC will vote on the amendment proposal at its commission meeting on January 7.
