Bay Area in store for more wet winter weather

There was hail and wind, and the storm is not over yet.

Bay Area residents continued to feel nature’s winter wrath Wednesday morning, as small pea-size hail was reported falling in San Francisco and Oakland, according to the National Weather Service.

There is also the chance of the light hail falling again Thursday, and locals should also expect heavier rains Thursday night.

The wet weather is also expected to drag on through President’s Day weekend with a 60 percent chance of showers through Monday, National Weather Service forecaster Steve Anderson said.

The rain led to some problems. Southbound traffic on Great Highway in San Francisco was closed Wednesday morning due to the accumulation of water due to the rain, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The roadway between Lincoln Way and Sloat Boulevard was closed due to water not draining off the southbound lane.
