Bay Area Council opens office in Shanghai

Just like everywhere else in the nation, the Bay Area is limping its way back to economic recovery; with that comes new opportunities, including the Bay Area’s Council’s first overseas office in the Yangpu District of Shanghai.

The goal: to open the floodgates of trade between the Shanghai region and the Bay Area. And Bay Area leaders have high hopes for this relationship.

“Much is expected,” Bay Area Council Chairman Lloyd Dean said. “Today, with this office in Yangpu, the door for collaboration has been opened. Let us walk through the door together with strength and purpose, and not let history down.”

Now, the Shanghai office will start prepping to serve Bay Area companies wanting to expand in China, connecting them with officials, partners and advisers, and looking to bring more Chinese investment into the Bay Area.
