Bay Area authors explore two cities in novels

That celebrity health epidemic, dehydration, has struck yet another victim. Nicole Richie was taken to the hospital Friday after suffering symptoms of the dreaded ailment.

While shooting her reality series, "The Simple Life," Nicole started feeling unwell, reports E! Online. After seeing a doctor on set, she was brought to a hospital, where she received IV fluids. After 15 minutes, she was released.

Her rep issued a statement saying, "Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening. We are proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining and her focus on her health." Nicole announced last fall that shewas seeking treatment for her inability to gain weight.

The health scare comes at what seems to be a happy time for Nicole despite her recent DUI troubles, with rumors swirling that she is moving in with and maybe even getting engaged to her beau of a few months, Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden. And she’s filming the fifth "Simple Life" season with recently reunited BFF Paris Hilton.

Let’s hope Nicole really is taking care of herself — she has a lot to feel good about.

Liz: Beautiful Bride

Supermodel Elizabeth Hurley has made it official with businessman Arun Nayar, her man since 2003. After a civil marriage service Friday, the Brit beauty walked down the aisle of England’s Sudley Castle on Saturday, with rock legend Elton John giving her away.

Along with Elton and hubby David Furnish, celeb guests at the gala reception included Liz’s ex and longtime friend Hugh Grant, plus model pals Kate Moss, Eva Herzigova and Elle Macpherson and designer Donatella Versace.

The wedding party was clad in Versace, natch.

The newlyweds are set to fly out to India, where Arun was born, for a second wedding celebration that will last for days.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Angelina Adopting Again

(Getty Images) Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are hoping to add a fourth child to their family.

Angelina Jolie has always been vocal about her desire to adopt several children from all over the world, and now it appears she’s ready to add another member to her family of three kids. The director of the International Adoption Agency in Vietnam stated Friday that paperwork is in progress for the Oscar-winning actress to adopt a child from that nation.

Just last week, a Vietnamese orphanage denied reports that Angelina and her partner, Brad Pitt, were adopting a child there, as Scoop! reported. But now a source tells People’s Web site that the wheels have been in motion for quite some time: "The process began shortly after Shiloh was born."

Explaining that the adoption process in Vietnam is drawn-out, the source continues, "That process could take a long time to unfold, and while it is wonderful that people are excited about it, the news that papers have been filed is only the beginning of a very comprehensive and detailed process."

Curiously, Angelina has reportedly applied to adopt as a single parent.

Christina: Love Scene Laughs

Christina Ricci is one lucky lady. One of the perks of her role in "Black Snake Moan" was getting to do love scenes with multitalented hottie Justin Timberlake.

Granted, filming an intimate moment can be more awkward than romantic for actors. But Christina tells "People" that the "SexyBack" singer made her feel comfortable during their onscreen hookups: "He was fun to be with, because we could laugh about it."

"Actors make out with other actors all the time," Christina explains matter-of-factly. "If they’re sweet — and Justin is a very sweet, sweet guy, a lot of fun to be with and goofy — then you can turn it into a situation where you just laugh your ass off. Like, ‘OK, fine, now we’re naked and on top of each other. Hi, how are you?’"

Not bad work if you can get it.
