BART’s new station opens Saturday, grand ceremony planned Friday

A day before BART’s newest station opens for service, agency officials will hold a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the new depot.

BART’s West Dublin/Pleasanton Station will officially open up to passengers on Saturday. At 10 a.m. Friday, BART will hold a special event for the $106 million station — BART’s 44th — located between the Castro Valley and Dublin/Pleasanton stations in the East Bay.

San Francisco residents hoping to check out the new stop will have to shell out a pretty hefty fee to get there and back — round-trip tickets from The City to the West Dublin/Pleasanton station cost $10.80.
