BART to hold final SF community meeting tonight in Mission

BART will hold one more meeting tonight in San Francisco to gather feedback on what qualifies as a major service change while gauging how a temporary fare reduction would affect minority communities.

Since losing $70 million for its Oakland Airport Connector project for failing to conduct proper outreach with minority populations, BART has embarked on a series of community outreach programs aimed at improving the agency’s communication practices.

The agency has already conducted four neighborhood meetings in San Francisco, with tonight’s hearing in the Mission district the final chance for residents to weigh in on issues related to BART. The meeting is scheduled to last from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at Chavita’s on 3161 24th Street.
