BART breaks record for passengers to SFO during Thanksgiving weekend

BART carried a record amount of passengers on its SFO extension during the Thanksgiving holiday, although it wasn’t quite as many riders as the agency predicted.

Some 62,200 passengers rode the train to the airport from last Wednesday to Monday, breaking the previous record of 62,000. However, 2010’s record tally was about 2,000 passengers less than initially forecast by the agency.

This year’s Thanksgiving haul was 1.1 percent greater than 2009, when 61,500 passengers used the train to travel down to SFO.
