Bar argument turns physical on Polk Street 

Shoplifting, robberies and a bar fight culminated this weekend in crime.

100 block of Polk Street
1:40 a.m. Sunday

Perhaps they were talking about politics. Two men drinking at a bar argued before resorting to fisticuffs, police said. The 22-year-old victim was knocked to the ground outside the bar by an unknown suspect. He was treated at the hospital for his injuries, which were not life threatening.

Ocean Avenue and Capitol Street
1:45 p.m. Saturday

A 22-year-old woman was robbed of her phone and cash, police said. The victim let a man in his 20s use her phone. The ingrate then snatched the cash out of her hand and fled on foot with the cash and phone.

800 block of Market Street
8:25 p.m. Sunday

A group of teen girls stole a pair of sunglasses from a store, police said. A 24-year-old employee at the store saw the theft and attempted to stop the gang of three girls, reportedly aged 16 to 20, from leaving. The employee was pushed out of the way and the crooks fled.

3100 block of 21st Street
12:15 a.m. Sunday

Two men in their 20s attacked a woman during an attempted robbery, police said. The 33-year-old victim was ambushed from behind when one of the thugs grabbed her purse, threw her to the ground and punched her. The brutes were unable to secure the purse before fleeing.
