Bank-robbing bandit flees in cab 

Correction: This story originally reported that the First Republic Bank at 3533 California St. was robbed. The First Republic Bank was not robbed Nov. 26, a different bank in Laurel Village was robbed that day.

Cops are hunting a bank crook who used a paper bag for a weapon and a Yellow Cab for a getaway car during a heist in Laurel Heights on Friday.

Police say a white man in his 30s robbed a bank located in the Laurel Village shopping strip.

He had his hand in a paper bag and stated, “This is a robbery.” He “possibly fled in a Yellow Cab,” police said.

Authorities have not released the amount of cash that was stolen.
