Bandit makes off with restaurant’s cash, parking validation tickets

A gun-toting thug robbed a restaurant in the 1700 block of Powell Street of cash and parking validation tickets Saturday night, police said.

The suspect, described as a black man in his late 30s or early 40s, walked into the restaurant around 8:30 p.m. and grabbed one of the women working there, cops said.

He brandished a gun and then demanded money from the register, they said.

Another woman working at the store complied and the thief fled, cops said.

There have been no arrests.
