Bachmann asked on Fox: "Are you a flake?"

This morning on Fox News Sunday, as part of their “2012: One on one” series, host Chris Wallace asked Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., “Are you a flake?” Bachmann replied that it would be “insulting to say something like that.”

Wallace then pressed Bachmann, claiming she had a propensity for inaccurate statements including her recent claim on Fox News Sunday that NATO bombing killed 30,000 civilians in Tripoli.

Bachmann did not address that statement. Instead, she reiterated her resume:

I’m not only a lawyer, I have a post-doctorate degree in federal tax law from William and Mary. I’ve worked in serious scholarship … my husband and I have raised five kids, we’ve raised 23 foster children. We’ve applied ourselves to education reform. We started a charter school for at-risk kids. I’ve also been a state senator and member of the United States Congress for five years.

Wallace then said, in more of a statement than a question, "You do recognize that now that you are in the spotlight in a way that you weren't before that you have to be careful?" Bachmann replied, "Of course a person has to be careful with the statements they make."
