Assessor-recorder to detail SF’s transfer tax windfall 

Amid the budget anxiety at City Hall, San Francisco Assessor-Recorder Phil Ting is striving to be the bearer of good news.

Ting last week announced that The City had received a windfall in the transfer tax generated in the last fiscal year, totally to more than $83 million. In June alone, approximately $21.6 million was collected compared to June 2009 which brought in $6.5 million. Ting on Thursday will detail why The City saw this windfall and which properties contributed to the influx of cash.
