Assemblyman to speak on pipeline safety

San Mateo County Assemblyman Jerry Hill is expected to introduce three bills Monday targeting gas pipeline safety.

One would require the California Public Utilities Commission to implement National Transportation Safety Board recommendations; another would require a whistle-blower protection program at the CPUC; and the last would force the CPUC to set gas rates based on a utility’s safety record.
