Ashley Edde helps raise money for Berkeley Animal Shelter

The general manager of the Marina district boutique Retail Therapy is helping raise money for the Berkeley Animal Shelter by matching every dollar donated with a percent off your total purchase through Sunday.

Why are you helping the Berkeley Animal Shelter? A recent fire caused destruction to the hospital, as well as the shelter and administrative areas. The fire killed at least 12 cats and displaced 35 animals. They are also without electricity, water and phone lines.

How did you and Retail Therapy get involved? When we heard about what had happened ... it was heart-wrenching, and I immediately started thinking about all the different ways I could help.

You also have a connection to that shelter. It’s where I adopted Bean, my Chihuahua/wire-haired dachshund mix, or a “Chiweenie” as some people call them. I have rescued two dogs and I have to say they are the most loyal and affectionate dogs I have ever had.

What type of store is Retail Therapy? Retail Therapy is a women’s contemporary boutique outlet carrying lines such as
Theory, Diane von Furstenberg and Catherine Malandrino at 40 to 60 percent off MSRP. We also have a house line and carry accessories and handbags.
