Arts Commission ponders aggressive three-year plan

The Arts Commission is considering a three-year strategic plan aimed at raising more money for the arts and increasing the popularity as well as expanding city arts programs.

The draft plan sets a goal of increasing the number of street artist locations citywide, “establish the Arts Commission as an expert in art-related issues on local and national scale. Become the ‘go-to’ for arts news and issues in the City,” “aggressively pursues corporate donations in the first two quarters of 2011,” and “raise between $250,000- 500,000 (from corporate, foundations, and family funders) for each of the next three years.”
