Arts Commission looking for band to play Chinatown alley

Know a good band with a Chinatown connection?

If so, the San Francisco Arts Commission wants to hook them up with a gig.

The Arts Commission just tweeted that they’re looking for such a band to play in a Chinatown alley for the launch of the Art in Storefronts program in that neighborhood. The launch will be taking place the evening of Friday, June 11.

Chinatown will be the latest neighborhood to be the focus of an Art in Storefronts. The program, as the name suggests, temporarily places art installations and murals by San Francisco-based artists into storefront windows – a program previously tested in New York and San Diego. San Francisco’s project started last year in the Central Market, Tenderloin, Bayview and Outer Mission neighborhoods.
