Arrest made in Tenderloin homicide

Police arrested a 42-year-old man Saturday on suspicion of murdering another man who was found stabbed to death inside the suspect’s apartment.

Phuck Van Lee was arrested on suspicion of killing Tuan Nguyen, a 36-year-old San Francisco resident, and booked him into the San Francisco County Jail, said Sgt. Wilfred Williams.

At about 1 a.m. Saturday morning, police received a 911 call regarding a possible stabbing near Ellis and Hyde Streets. When officers arrived they found no victim, no crime and nobody who claimed to have reported the call, Williams said.

Shortly after, police received another 911 call, reporting a stabbing at an apartment on the 600 block of Ellis Street.

When police arrived, they saw Lee flagging down officers. He had blood on his hands and clothing, Williams said. Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene. Lee was detained and questioned and later arrested on suspicion of homicide.
