Arrest made in Bernal Heights suspicious death 

The suspicious death police were investigating in Bernal Heights on Tuesday is now being investigated as a homicide and an arrest has been made in the case, Officer Albie Esparza said Wednesday in a statement.

Jules Sibilio, 48, of San Francisco, was arrested on suspicion of murdering the 42-year-old woman who lived with him in the 500 block of Peralta Avenue, Esparza said.

On Tuesday, firefighters responded to the scene about 9:30 a.m. on a medical call. Once there, they found the body and thought it was suspicious and called police.

The victim suffered trauma and died at the scene, Esparza said. She was identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Mary Atchison.

Sibilio was booked into County Jail on one count of homicide.
