Armed thug steals boy's phone in the Tenderloin

A 15-year-old boy sitting outside at a restaurant in the Tenderloin was robbed of his phone at gunpoint Wednesday, police said.

The victim was sitting outside a restaurant in the 100 block of Mason Street about 10 p.m. when a man who appeared to be in his 20s asked the boy if he could use his phone. The boy said no, and the man then took out a handgun from his waistband, snatched the phone and fled.

No arrest has been made.
