Armed burglars ransack Ingleside residence with women home

A pair of armed men robbed two young women at their house in Ingleside on Wednesday, stealing a handgun and electronics.

The women, aged 18 and 20, were at home near Grafton and Jules avenues about 9 p.m. when two men knocked on their door with handguns drawn. When one of the women answered, the thieves forced their way in and ransacked the place.

They went from room to room stealing whatever they could find of value, which also included an unknown amount of cash and a tablet, before leaving, police said.

The burglars' faces were covered and thus police did not get a detailed description of the pair, Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

The two women were not injured. A third housemate, a 21-year-old man, came home just as police arrived at 8:58 p.m.

A fourth person who lives in the house was not present.

It's unclear to whom the gun was registered, although police say it had a valid serial number.
