Appeals filed on naval-shipyard report

The Board of Supervisors will hold a long hearing to determine whether an environmental review of a massive redevelopment project satisfied California law.

The recent certification by the Planning Commission of the environmental analysis of Hunters Point Naval Shipyard building plans was challenged in four appeals, city planning official Joy Navarrete said.

Wednesday was the last day appeals could be filed against certification of the report.

The recent votes followed six hours of debate and public comment.

A similarly grueling hearing will be scheduled before the Board of Supervisors.
