Anna Nicole’s ex: I’m definitely the dad

Anna Nicole Smith’s photographer ex-boyfriend says he’s positive that her baby daughter, Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, is his.

Larry Birkhead told "Access Hollywood" that the very moment he first saw photos of the child, "I knew. I said, ‘She’s mine. That’s my baby. She looks like me — she is mine.’ And there was not a doubt."

Larry, engaged in a battle about the baby’s paternity with another former Anna paramour, Howard K. Stern, insists he is not interested in the possible vast inheritance that comes with being Dannielynn’s father, but just wants "to be a good father."

When Anna became pregnant, he recalls, he knew immediately: "She just had this different look about her." And when he confronted her, "she said, ‘Yes, we’re having a baby.’"

Larry finally met 5-month-old Dannielynn in person Monday, at the Bahamas residence where she is staying with Howard. Could this foreshadow a possibletruce? Stay tuned.

Blunt Statement

Details have emerged about the car accident James Blunt was involved in while leaving a pre-Oscar party in the wee hours Saturday.

The rocker’s rep says that a paparazzi mob around James and supermodel girlfriend Petra Nemcova led to the incident in which a man’s foot was run over — but did not actually say that James hit him.

"It wasn’t a fan," the singer’s spokesperson told People. "It was a ton of paparazzi that were all swarming his car as he was driving 2 mph trying to navigate his way through them. … They were invading his space. He was just trying to quietly leave the party."

An eyewitness described the scene to the magazine’s Web site: "Suddenly James Blunt pulled out. … I looked over and the guy was flat on his back. ... I thought he was fully run over. It was horrifying. It turns out that he started to get up slowly. His right lower leg near his foot was run over."

According to the source, people exclaimed, "Hey, stop! You just hit somebody!" but the car did not stop.

Earth to Katie!

(AP Photo/Danny Moloshok) Katie Holes apparently refused to leave hubby Tom Cruise's side on the red carpet.

What was up with Katie Holmes’ behavior on the red carpet of Vanity Fair’s Academy Awards party? A report claims the "Batman Begins" star clung speechless to her husband, Tom Cruise, as if she were trying out for the sequel to "The Stepford Wives."

The report on Us Weekly’s Web site says Tom wanted his gorgeous wife to pose solo for paparazzi, telling them, "Take a shot of her."

But Katie demurred, reluctant to be photographed without him by her side. Eventually, Tom asked her again and she relented.

Katie reportedly was silent as Tom chatted with paparazzi and onlookers, dragging her by the hand behind him.

This couple just gets creepier!

Britney: PostPartum Problems?

Could the real reason behind Britney Spears’ recent meltdown be postpartum depression? A report by Web site says insiders at Promises, the Malibu rehab residence where Britney is receiving in-patient treatment, point to demons other than drugs or alcohol.

According to the site, sources close to the facility say Britney’s doctors have narrowed down her diagnosis to two possibilities: either post-partum depression or bipolar disorder, with the former seeming more likely at this point.

"No doubt about it — she likes to drink," one source reportedly conceded. But self-medicating is thought to be a symptom, rather than the underlying cause, of Britney’s problems.

The struggling singer is reportedly reading Brooke Shields’ memoir, "Down Came the Rain," during her downtime at Promises.

Whatever the root of Britney’s problems, it’s heartening that she appears to be fully committed to her recovery. You can get through this, Brit!
