Amanda Bynes reportedly not competent to appear in court for DUI case

Amanda Bynes was supposed to appear in court this week to face the DUI charge that she received last year, but her lawyer told the judge that she was not competent to stand trial.

Rich Hutton told the court that she “did not have the mental capacity to understand the nature of the legal proceedings,” according to TMZ. That’s especially concerning since she has spent weeks supposedly being treated for an alleged mental illness.

The judge reportedly ordered her sent to a mental health court for further assessment.
