Alleged Picasso art thief a surveillance camera star

Is there a surveillance camera tape in America that Mark Lugo has not starred in?

Lugo, the unemployed 30-year-old sommelier accused of stealing a dozen artworks, including a Picasso sketch from a Union Square art gallery, was allegedly caught in the act on security cameras in San Francisco, New Jersey and New York.

In San Francisco, the security camera at Union Square eatery Lefty O’Doul’s captured what appears to be Lugo strolling off with the Picasso on July 5.

In New Jersey, a security camera caught Lugo leaving a wine store where he is accused of pilfering three bottles of wine at $2,000 a pop.

And after Lugo was arrested in Napa last week, cops in New York City recognized him from surveillance video captured at The Carlyle hotel on the Upper East Side, according to a report in the New York Post on Friday.

Perhaps this is why we compare Lugo to Thomas Crown, a character in a film.
