Advanced Micro Devices, markets down 

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) fell more than 4.6 percent by the close of the markets Friday, the largest change seen among local stocks tracked by the Examiner.

San Francisco-based AMB Property (AMB) also fell more than 4 percent, while at the other end of the spectrum San Jose-based SunPower Corp. (SPWR) rose more than 1.7 percent and NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA) rose more than 1.6 percent.

The markets closed down overall, with the Dow Jones closing down more than 1.3 percent, the Nasdaq more than 1.2 percent and the S&P 500 more than 1.3 percent.

Companies in the news included Mountain View-based Google Inc. (GOOG), after FTC chairwoman Deborah Platt Majoras announced she would not recuse herself from a decision on the company’s purchase of online advertising giant DoubleClick.
