Adele reschedules tour after laryngitis bout, plays Greek Theatre in August

So close, but yet so far.

When soulful British diva Adele was recently forced to cancel a handful of June dates due to an unexpected bout with laryngitis, it looked like the North American tour would actually kick back in just in time for her Greek Theatre date in Berkeley.

No such luck.

Her condition was so dire, the entire juggernaut got shelved. Good news just arrived, however — the tour is back on, with six additional dates added, including one in Las Vegas and another in Atlantic City. So the sassy lass will finally sashay into the Greek on Aug. 14, with all original tickets honored.

It’s interesting to note that “21” isn’t just an ordinary little breakthrough album — the disc is gargantuan, and held on to the No. 1 U.S. chart spot for ten remarkable weeks, and it was just certified double platinum on these shores, while worldwide sales have rocketed past the 7 million mark. In Adele’s native England, the set has spent more time at No. 1 than any other female artist in history.

Check out our past interviews with her here, or keep up with her future schedule at And then get thee to the Greek on Aug. 14!
