A pedestrian sting operation may be coming to an intersection near you

Police are warning drivers to watch out and stop for pedestrians. In light of two recent pedestrian deaths, San Francisco police will be conducting pedestrian sting operations at heavily-traveled intersections.

A plain clothes officer will pose as a pedestrian and uniformed officers will pull over any driver that is in violation, and cite them, according to police.

The driver of a vehicle is required to yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection.
