555 Washington appeal hearing scheduled Tuesday

A Board of Supervisors ruling next week could determine the fate of the 555 Washington condo project.

The board is scheduled to rule Tuesday on appeals filed against the Planning Commission’s recent certification of the project’s environmental analysis.

Two appeals were filed by opponents of the 38-story corkscrew-shaped tower, which is proposed to be built next to the Transamerica Pyramid.

The developer has said that a decision to uphold the appeal would lead to costly delays that could derail the project.
