26-year-old man led off and shot with a shotgun 

Police are searching for as many as five suspects that shot a 26-year-old Redwood City man with a shotgun Tuesday night, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 700 block of Cedar Street at around 8:15 p.m., according to the Redwood City Police Department.

Police and San Mateo County sheriff's deputies found the victim seriously injured by a single gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, though police could not confirm the status of his condition this morning.

Witnesses said that four or five male suspects between 17 and 21 years old approached the victim and led him to the corner of Cedar and Hilton streets where they shot him with a shotgun.

The suspects fled and were not arrested, according to police.
