2.4-magnitude quake in Fremont 

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.4 struck Friday morning in Fremont.

According to the USGS, the earthquake struck at 10:33 a.m. and had a depth of 3.5 miles.

The quake was centered near the Mission Peak Regional Preserve, about four miles east of central Fremont and seven miles north of Milpitas.
